Homework 5:

Averages

1.    Open the file of average baseball players salaries.  Compute the average salary for these two periods: 1967-1980 and and 1981-1997.  Use both the mean (average) and the median measures of average.  Create a proper column graph of your results. 
Copy the graph into a Word document and add an analysis of the statistical results. 

2.    Open the file of Co2 emissions.  Compute the average Co2 emissions for the world and for the United States, broken down into two time periods for each: 1980-1991 and 1992-2004.  Create a proper column graph of your results and copy it into your Word document.  Compute the percentage change in Co2 emissions.  Report the results of your calculations in a Word document and write an analysis of what you found. 

3.    Read the first paragraph of the Wikipedia articles on inflation and Consumer Price Index.
